Searsport Veterinary Hospital was founded by Dr. Elmore Andrews in 1963. In September of 1999, Dr. Andrews officially retired. The practice was re-opened in November 1999 under the leadership of Dr. Yvette Lahaye. Dr. Lahaye, originally from Jackson, Maine, attended veterinary school at the University of Tennesee College of Veterinary Medicine. Upon graduation, Dr. Lahaye worked as an associate veterinarian at Ellsworth Veterinary Hospital in Ellsworth, Maine until assuming the reins at Searsport Vet. The staff at Searsport Vet now includes Dr. Lahaye; Dr. Grace Simonson; Jamie, licensed veterinary technician; Jess, veterinary technician; Carrie, Office manager & receptionist; Renee, veterinary assistant; and Sawyer, clinic resident.
