Owner Matthew Witham are proud and excited to invite you to The Muddy Rudder Restaurant. Matt's vision of providing guests with exceptional food, coupled with impeccable service, has materialized on the picturesque coastline of Maine.
At dusk, the dying light of the summer sun strikes the windblown and waterswept reeds of the adjoining salt marsh and the entire east side of the restaurant is filled with a spatious natural radiance. High, tall windows with small tables with white table cloths. My wife is lovely but in this restaurant she looks luscious. The acoustics of the restaurant are excellent and in the evening there is live piano. The food is excellent. The service is excellent, and occasionally somewhat pedantic. The kid's menu is good, and the atmosphere of the place tends to calm them down a bit. This is the kind of place where you propose marriage. I've been to this place five times the past three years and its always been superior. Highly recommended.
We stopped for lunch on our recent trip to Maine. The welcome was cordial with the right amount of attention. We wanted steamed lobster with drawn butter and we got it. I had a glass of their house wine and it was quite good. We sat out on the deck and enjoyed the sun. Only thing I would add was I felt the service was a little slow for the time slot we were there. I probably would have had a 2nd glass of wine if I had been ask. But I would still recommend this place.
