I didn't expect to like this as much as I do, in fact, we seem to eat here at least two to three times a month! The food is very good, and there is a lot of it, so make sure you're hungry! The wine list is excellent, several great choices in the moderate range! I adore the Chicken Parisianne, but most dishes we've had have been equally good!!
P.S. Since we love this Moretti's so much, we tried the one on Sawmill Rd. This has a different menu and different feel. Although the food was still good, I would highly recommend the Upper Arlington restaurant over the one on Sawmill.
This is a small restaurant with a local/family feel, tucked into a shopping plaza. It's easy to miss, but often busy. You can call ahead for reservations - highly recommended on a Friday or Saturday night. Service can be inconsistent, but even when it's off, it's just average, not bad.
Every dish we have tried has been fantastic. Their wedding soup is incredibly flavorful. (This is an option instead of salad with the regular dishes.) Their portions are incredibly generous, but they also offer ""small plates"" for those with smaller appetites. (The small plate is usually stil two meals' worth for me.) The pasta is made in-house daily, and you can taste the fresh ingredients! I recommend going early, as they do occasionally run out of dishes. Every special we've tried has been fantastic. Also, if they have it (and you still have room!), order the Italian Sweet Milk cake for dessert. You will not be disappointed.
My husband and I found this place by chance, and we are SO glad we did. After moving to Columbus, we searched for a good Italian restaurant, and found only average Italian fare. Then we found Moretti's of Upper Arlington. It is hands down the best Italian meal we've had here. (On par with restaurants in little Italy in NYC and San Fransisco.) This is now the place we take out-of-town guests to.
Horrible service sums up our experience. We waited over 15 mins to get our drinks--a bottle of wine & a martini which we could see sitting a mere 10 feet from our table. The restaurant was offering a special fixed price menu for ""restaurant week"" which is what brought us in. However, they were out of nearly 1/2 of the items from that menu, including the tiramisu which is one of the things we were most looking forward to trying. They offered no substitutions & not once did a manager stop by to ask about our experience or offer an apology for the lack of food options. Thankfully the food was okay or we might have been reluctant to pay the full bill--but the food was just that--okay. Not much good to say about the experience & I doubt we'll be back.
The food itself was pretty good, hence my 2 stars. But the portion size was the biggest joke, i think i finished the meal in two bites. I mean its pasta?? Not steak. anyways, dont get your hopes up on this place.
I live so close to this place and i want it to be awesome but each time i go, i get let down. My most recent visit, the service was miserable and i felt like the wait staff didnt want to be there.
I love this place!!!!!. I took my family with me and we had a great time. My favorite dish are chicken meatball and grilled tuna salad and Jami's cheesecake . Everything we had was great and the staff were very nice and accomodating . Me and my family can't wait to go back.
